Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a small, quiet town. A lot of people who aren't aware of about the place mistakenly think that they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. In fact it is this is not the case. West Island includes everything westward from that city Lachine. Amanda Brugel grew up on this island, and it is commonly referred to as her birthplace. It is true that she was there for a brief duration. Brugel lived in Courtice near Oshawa Ontario. When she was a child, she wanted to be a performer but an unexpected expansion of her body made it impossible. In an article in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. After I outgrew the male dancers, I decided to quit. Many former dancers turn into acting. In Brugel's situation, it was a nudge from the drama instructor at her high school which encouraged her to go in that direction. A teacher suggested that she audition for an annual school production. After trying out the role, she was chosen as the leading lady in Anne of Green Gables. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Over the past 20 years, Brugel's roles in the world of television and on the screen have varied. The role of Rita from the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale was her most notable. Brugel is the only Canadian actor in Season 1 and only appeared occasionally.
